·        Gas Testing

In this course, testing of the concentration of flammable gas like Methane, Oxygen and Hydrogen Sulphide etc is taught to the trainees. These gases have to be tested in various occasions in an oil field operations. For example, when any welding job is carried out closer to the hydrocarbon location, the level of flammable gas has to be checked before taking up the job. Otherwise there could be a major fire accident in that area. Secondly, when a person is entering any vessel or tank or any other confined space, the oxygen level in that area has to be checked before the man entry. Otherwise the man would get killed. Thirdly, Hydrogen Sulphide being a poisonous gas, the concentration has to be checked before carrying out specific operational activities.

Various techniques of measurement of these gas concentration is taught in the Gs Testing Course in an oil industry. I have attended this course in a Shell group oil company.
