Oil industries have numerous hazards. The safety of the personnel and the system is very essential and it is achieved by various techniques. Safety awareness and hazard identification is one of the main techniques adapted in STOP programme. This programme is patented by Dupont, USA. I have attended this programme while I was working for a Dupont oil industry called Conoco group of company at Dubai.

This programme would develop a habit of identifying various safety hazards around us in the domestic and work environment and make us to take corrective actions to rectify such deficiencies. This is a wonderful tool to achieve a good safety record in a hazard prone industry like oil & gas industries.
