·        Environment Management (EM)

EM is a key activity of oil industry in its various stages like drilling, production, storage, shipment, transport and field abandonment. In each stage there are possibilities for environmental pollution. Generally, pollution possibilities are bright in offshore than at onshore.

In almost all the countries strict regulations have been framed through the union and state government to have a control over the environmental pollution. International conventions like MARPOL (Marine Pollution) stipulates the rules and regulations pertinent to offshore industries located away from the coastal zone.

Understanding of the National and International Environment Management Principles is a must in today’s oil field business. Each company frames its own Management systems and procedures to achieve the common objective of preventing or minimizing the environmental pollution.

I have undergone Environment Management course sponsored by Ministry of Environment and Forest (MOEF) conducted by Association of Staff College of India at Hyderabad. This course has enlightened my knowledge on the Environment Management Systems of various Industries.
